Veranda Resorts - Corporate
The story of Veranda Resorts
The story of Veranda Resorts started in 1982 when two leading figures in Mauritian tourism decided to launch a new hotel concept and created the Veranda Bungalow Village. It was a straightforward concept, "to give visitors the opportunity of living as Mauritians do during their stay on the island", but was highly innovative at the time as Mauritius was focusing on luxury hotels.
Following on the amazing success of the Veranda Bungalow Village, the concept has grown and so after 20 years the initial project has been transformed into a fully fledged hotel group that is 100% Mauritian. Today, with 7 hotels, Veranda Resorts is a landmark in the tourism landscape of Mauritius, where one can still encounter the family atmosphere and respect for Mauritian traditions and customs, ones which are associated with the wonderful savoir-faire and the art of a truly professional hotelier - qualities embodied by the Managing Director Jean-Michel Pitot.
